CITY GUIDE · CHONGQING
Where to stay in Chongqing: river-confluence towers at Chaotianmen, the Jiangbei side, and a skyline hotel near the convention center.
Chongqing sits where the Yangtze and Jialing rivers meet, and the hotels here are mostly tall towers with river or city views. InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City is at Chaotianmen Square in Yuzhong District, right at the confluence. Regent Chongqing and TFT Chongqing are on the Jiangbei side, across the water, with Regent in the Jiangbeizui financial district. Conrad Chongqing is in the Jiafa Center in Nan'an District, close to the international convention and exhibition center. For first-timers, we would start with Chaotianmen or Jiangbeizui and use the metro for the rest.
Reference rates: nightly, 2 adults in one room, before tax, across four dates a year; from about US$176 a night.
