This round's best single deal is the Fairmont Peace Hotel on the Bund in Shanghai. Through the Accor Preferred advisor program you can get the third night free, which is Stay 3 Pay 2, stacked with daily breakfast for two, a US$100 hotel credit and a VIP welcome amenity, all on free-cancellation terms. There is no published end date for this offer – it is a limited-time advisor-channel rate that doesn't appear on the hotel's website or public booking pages, and whether you can get it depends on current inventory.
Hotel background
The Peace Hotel stands where the Bund meets East Nanjing Road and is one of Shanghai's most recognizable landmarks. The main building was built in 1929, financed by the British businessman Victor Sassoon and originally named the Cathay Hotel. Designed by Palmer & Turner, it opened on September 5, 1929, and was then billed as "the number one building in the Far East." The verdigris pyramid roof rises 77 meters from the ground, and the Art Deco facade, Italian white marble floors and Lalique glass pieces are all footnotes to an era when it was "the most luxurious hotel in the East." In 1956 the hotel took its current name, the Peace Hotel, which it has kept ever since.
The hotel's best-known soft asset is its band of elderly jazz musicians. The Peace Hotel Jazz Bar was founded in 1980 with seven musicians all over seventy, who play American and European jazz classics from the 1930s and 40s every night. In 1996 Newsweek named it one of the world's best bars of the year, and it remains the hotel's most weighty evening calling card.
The hotel has 270 rooms and suites, 39 of them suites. For dining there are three main restaurants: the French bistro Victor’s, The Cathay Room serving modern European cuisine, and the Cantonese restaurant Dragon Phoenix Restaurant on the 8th floor, known for its red columns and dragon-and-phoenix coffered ceiling, facing the Bund and Lujiazui, one of the best dining views in the hotel. For afternoon tea or an evening drink there is also the Jasmine Lounge. The spa is the Willow Stream Spa, over 1,000 square meters with 11 treatment rooms.

Also worth a mention are the Nine Nations Suites: four (British, American, Chinese and Indian) preserve the original designs from the old Peace Hotel, while five (French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and German) were redesigned on the original concept. They correspond to countries that had trade ties with Sassoon in the 1920s, and are the hotel's most historic set of suites.

Offer details
Booking this hotel through the Accor Preferred advisor program gets you the following set of perks:
- Third night free, which is Stay 3 Pay 2
- Daily breakfast for two (per room)
- US$100 hotel credit; the specific terms of use are to be confirmed with the hotel at check-in
- VIP welcome amenity
- Room upgrade at check-in (subject to availability)
- Early check-in / late check-out (subject to availability)
- Flexible cancellation terms, not a prepaid, locked-in non-refundable rate
Minimum stay: 3 nights. Only the third night is free, so a 2-night stay doesn't get this part of the offer.
Eligible room types: in our checks, all 10 bookable room types at this hotel qualify, from the entry-level Fairmont King up to the top Chinese suite, and every one gets the free night, with none excluded.
Reference prices (checked July 26, 2026): taking a 3-night stay for 2 adults checking in on September 1, 2026 as the example:
- The Fairmont King through the accredited-advisor Preferred Partner channel is US$383.93 for night 1, US$383.93 for night 2 and US$0 for night 3;
- You pay US$895.32 for 3 nights including taxes, roughly US$298.44 a night;
- The public refundable rate for the same room type and the same dates is US$447.66 a night, or US$1,342.97 for 3 nights including taxes, a difference of US$447.65 between the two, saving about 33.3%.
Overall: room rates run about US$298 – US$1,492 a night (varying by room type and stay date, with everything from the entry-level king room to the top suite under this same discount structure), and with breakfast for two and the US$100 credit on top, the overall value stands out for a Bund location.
Cancellation policy: this rate is on refundable terms, and for these dates we found that you can cancel free of charge until the day before check-in (before August 31), after which it becomes non-cancellable. The free-cancellation deadline shifts with the check-in date, and we'll confirm it with the hotel again when we place the order.

Choosing a room
The Peace Hotel's room structure runs along two lines. Standard rooms start with the entry-level Fairmont King, then move up to the Deluxe King, the Fairmont Gold King and the Gold Grand King; the suite line starts at the Fairmont Suite, goes up to the River View Suite, and tops out with several similarly specified Nine Nations Suites (the four we checked this time were the French, German, Spanish and Chinese suites, all priced identically).
One practical takeaway on choosing: in our checks the entry-level Fairmont King is US$298 a night after the discount and the Deluxe King is US$321, a difference of only twenty-odd dollars a night, so the best value is actually the Deluxe King one step up – larger, with the same 33.3% discount. Moving up to the Fairmont Gold King and Gold Grand King, the discounted rate is US$367 a night, with the added exclusive perks of the Gold floor.
For more space, the Fairmont Suite is about US$861 a night after the discount and the River View Suite about US$1,435, and above that are the French, German, Spanish and Chinese Nine Nations Suites, all around US$1,492 a night after the discount; this price range suits milestone trips, such as a wedding anniversary or an elder's landmark birthday. If you're taking elderly parents or children home to visit family, the two tiers from entry level to the Deluxe King are quite enough, and the budget you save can go toward the rest of the trip.

Booking advice
For those heading home to visit family or passing through on business, the Peace Hotel is a very practical base: the Bund and the East Nanjing Road pedestrian street are right downstairs, and places like People's Square and Yu Garden are only a dozen minutes away by car, much more convenient than staying in Pudong or the suburbs.
On timing, September through mid-October is the most comfortable stretch of the year in Shanghai: the summer heat has gone, humidity has dropped, mornings and evenings are just right for a walk, and the Bund night view looks clearest at this time of year. With a free-third-night structure, it only pays off from 3 nights, and an itinerary of 3 to 4 nights is about right, enough for the city's must-see places without rushing.
If you're visiting family on the way back from a business trip, the Peace Hotel's location basically saves the time cost of commuting within the city – you handle business during the day and step downstairs to the Bund at night, and compared with staying in the suburbs to save a few dozen dollars and spending an extra hour or two commuting each day, the math works out.
Finally, since this rate allows free cancellation, you can hold the room type and price even if your dates aren't fully settled, and adjust later without affecting your other arrangements.
How to book
We are an accredited advisor for programs including Accor Preferred / HERA, Virtuoso, Hyatt Privé, Rosewood Elite, Marriott STARS, Mandarin Oriental Fan Club and Four Seasons Preferred Partner, and these perks are only available through an advisor channel.
Compared with booking direct on the hotel's website, at the same room rate an order placed through us adds free breakfast, a hotel credit and a room upgrade, while your points and elite nights still accrue, and we charge nothing extra. The Peace Hotel's free third night in particular appears only through advisor channels and can't be found on the hotel's website. Send us your dates and party size and we'll check the current rate.
