Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley has won another award. In The Zoe Report's 2026 Readers' Choice Awards, it ranked first for Best Wine Hotel in the US, announced on September 18, 2026.
Hotel awards come around by the dozen every year, but a wine award for this one is hardly a surprise. The grounds already have a winery of their own, Elusa Winery, planted with 4.7 acres of organically farmed Cabernet Sauvignon, just a few steps from the guest rooms.

Latest Update
Updated October 4, 2026: Four Seasons Napa Valley was named first place for Best Wine Hotel in the US in The Zoe Report's 2026 Readers' Choice Awards.
The short version
- The hotel is in Calistoga, at the northern end of Napa Valley, and its grounds have their own Elusa Winery with 4.7 acres of organically farmed Cabernet Sauvignon;
- On property you can join Blend Like a Winemaker (6 or more guests, blend your own wine and bottle it to take home) or a chocolate and Elusa wine pairing;
- Off property there are private experiences at three wineries: Davis Estates, ADAMVS and Chateau Montelena;
- For dining, Auro is Calistoga's only MICHELIN-starred restaurant, and both Auro and TRUSS earned Wine Spectator's 2026 Best of Award of Excellence.
The Award
The Zoe Report award is chosen by reader vote. According to Four Seasons' press release
, what readers mentioned most was watching the morning light on the vineyard from a guest room's private terrace and tasting wine at the winery on the grounds, followed by the pool, dining and service.

The hotel has also held Forbes Five-Star status for four years running. Officially, it is the only Forbes Five-Star resort in Napa Valley with a working winery on its grounds.
The Winery on the Grounds
The hotel's own winery is called Elusa Winery. The vineyard covers 4.7 acres, planted with organically farmed Cabernet Sauvignon, and the wine is made right on the grounds.
There are two experiences you can join at the winery:
- Blend Like a Winemaker: for groups of 6 or more. You tour the winemaking facility, then blend a wine yourself and bottle it to take home;
- Chocolate and wine pairing: local handmade chocolates paired with Elusa wines, some echoing each other and some deliberately contrasting.

Nearby Wineries
The hotel is right on the Silverado Trail, so several wineries are close by. For Davis Estates and Chateau Montelena, the hotel can also arrange complimentary private car transfers on request.
The arrangements work like this:
- Davis Estates: a 7-minute drive. A private tour of the vineyard and winery, then down into an 11,000-square-foot (about 1,022 square meters) cave cellar, with barrel tastings along the way and a final tasting of 4 current-vintage wines, each paired with a seasonal small plate;
- ADAMVS: on Howell Mountain, normally open only to visitors by appointment, but Four Seasons guests can tour privately. You walk through the biodynamic vineyard and gardens, then taste ADAMVS's own wines along with wines from the Adams family's two Bordeaux estates, Château Fonplégade in Saint-Émilion and Château L’Enclos in Pomerol;
- Chateau Montelena: the Insider Experience, tasting library vintages and current vintages, with access to areas normally closed to the public.
This year also happens to be the 50th anniversary of Chateau Montelena's 1973 Chardonnay winning the Judgment of Paris, a fitting year for wine lovers.

Dining
For dining, Auro is Calistoga's only MICHELIN-starred restaurant. 2026 is the fourth year in a row it has held one star, and the first star since new Executive Chef Evan Neumann took over. Dinner is a seven-course tasting menu, with an optional wine pairing.
TRUSS Restaurant + Bar serves seasonal California cooking, with views of the vineyard and the Palisades mountains from inside.
Both restaurants earned Wine Spectator's 2026 Best of Award of Excellence.

Other Facilities
The hotel's Spa Talisa offers Calistoga's well-known mud treatment (the Calistoga Mud Experience, which can be added to a massage or facial), along with a eucalyptus steam room and a hot tub with vineyard views.
There are two pools, one adults-only and one for families.

Advisor Perks
Four Seasons Napa Valley is also on our luxury hotel advisor perks list, as a Four Seasons Preferred Partner property. If you book with us at the cash rate, the perks usually include daily breakfast for two, a US$100 hotel credit, and an upgrade, early check-in and late checkout subject to availability, with no membership to maintain and no minimum to reach.
That said, the wine tastings and restaurants at the hotel are paid separately, and the press release doesn't give prices, so you can ask about them when you book.

Conclusion
Napa Valley's harvest generally starts at the end of August with the white and sparkling-wine grapes, and red grapes keep coming in through September and October, stretching into early November in cooler years. So if you want to stay at a winery during harvest, October is not too late.
