The Plaza, New York: Third Night Free – Stay 3 Pay 2, Averaging US$1,247 a Night (Through November 16)

The Plaza New York sits at the southeast corner of Central Park, and its green mansard roof is one of the most recognizable landmarks on the Manhattan skyline.

This round's best single deal is The Plaza, New York, with a free third night through the Virtuoso advisor program, roughly a 33% discount, plus a guaranteed upgrade at booking, a US$60 per person per day breakfast credit and a US$100 hotel credit. The Plaza's rates stay firm all year, so a discount like this is rare, and the stay window runs through November 16, 2026, enough for fall shopping in New York, Broadway shows or a city break before Thanksgiving.

Hotel background

The Plaza opened in 1907 where Fifth Avenue meets the south end of Central Park. With its French Renaissance architecture, green mansard roof and copper turrets, it has been the easiest building to recognize on the New York skyline for more than a hundred years. It was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1986, and it is one of the very few landmark buildings where hotel rooms and private residences share the same building. From The Great Gatsby to Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Plaza has appeared in countless classic films.

The interior keeps many historic details. The Palm Court, with its stained-glass dome and crystal chandeliers, is the signature space and one of the oldest afternoon tea rooms in New York, and it now serves dinner as well; next to it, The Champagne Bar is the place for a drink.

One thing to make clear: many Chinese-language write-ups still mention The Plaza's Oak Room restaurant and the Todd English Food Hall, but both are long gone – the Oak Room stopped operating to the public in 2011 and is now used only as a private event space, and the food hall is no longer on the official dining list. The hotel has 282 rooms and suites in all, with 24-hour butler service (on request).

Offer details

Booking The Plaza New York through the Virtuoso advisor program this round gets you the following set of perks:

  • Third night free (roughly a 33% discount)
  • Guaranteed upgrade at booking (subject to room type availability)
  • US$60 per person per day breakfast credit (up to two guests)
  • US$100 hotel credit, usable at the hotel's dining, spa and other facilities
  • Early check-in / late check-out (subject to availability)
  • Flexible cancellation (Refundable terms, not a locked-in advance purchase rate)

Stay window: from now through November 16, 2026

Eligible room types: Plaza King and most standard room types (top-tier suites such as the Eloise Suite, Tower Room, Gatsby Suite, Grand Penthouse and Royal Suite are excluded; all other room types qualify)

Reference prices (data as of July 24, 2026): taking a 3-night stay checking in on November 1, 2026 as the example:

  • The Plaza King (475 square feet / 44 square meters) through the accredited-advisor Virtuoso program is US$1,625 a night;
  • With the 3rd night free, you pay about US$3,740 for 3 nights including taxes, roughly US$1,247 a night, saving about 33%.

The average nightly rate after the discount falls roughly between US$1,083 and US$1,417 (varying by room type and stay date, from the entry-level Plaza King up to the more spacious Junior Suite), and that's before adding the guaranteed upgrade, the breakfast credit for two and the hotel credit. Frankly, rates at this level in New York rarely come down, so saving a whole night is a rare window.

Cancellation policy: the Virtuoso rate is on Refundable terms; you can cancel free of charge until about 2 days before check-in (that is, before October 30, 2026), after which it becomes non-cancellable. For the exact free-cancellation window, we'll confirm it with the hotel again when we place the order.

Choosing a room

Rooms at The Plaza start with the Plaza King, then move up to Deluxe, Terrace Room (some with a private terrace), Grand Luxe (with a wet bar) and Junior Suite (with a sofa bed). The suite tier is richer still, from the Edwardian Suite and the Pulitzer Fifth Avenue Suite to the Carnegie Suite, which has a partial view of Central Park, all decorated in the same French classical language.

Some Legacy Suites even have a private spiral staircase linking two levels, a duplex layout that is rare at The Plaza; worth a look if you're traveling with kids or want to stay somewhere with a bit of a story. The free third night covers the vast majority of room types, with only top-tier suites such as the Royal Suite and Grand Penthouse excluded, and when you book we'll first confirm that your room type is covered by the offer.

Booking advice

The hotel is right where Fifth Avenue meets Central Park. The Tiffany flagship and Carnegie Hall are a few minutes' walk away, and the FAO Schwarz toy flagship and the Broadway theater district are also within walking distance, which makes it a convenient base for a New York trip.

With a free-third-night structure, it only pays off from 3 nights, and 3 – 4 nights is the best fit in practice: you get the full benefit of the free night and still have time for afternoon tea at the Palm Court.

The stay window runs through November 16, covering the whole fall. New York weather is at its most comfortable then, the foliage in Central Park is at its best, and rates haven't yet hit the Thanksgiving and Christmas peak. Because it's on Refundable terms, you can lock in the room type and price even if your plans aren't fully set, and adjust the dates later.
