Fairmont, Accor's luxury brand, will open a new flagship hotel, Fairmont New Orleans, in New Orleans on November 2, 2026 (pushed back from the original June date). The hotel is housed in the historic Bank of New Orleans building next to the famous French Quarter, one of the most anticipated luxury openings in the city in recent years.

A Historic Bank Tower Becomes a Luxury Hotel
The building was originally the Bank of New Orleans tower, designed by the architecture firm SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) and completed in 1971, 31 floors in all. Fairmont takes 18 of them, and the Cloud Bar on the top, 31st floor is run by the hotel, with sweeping views of the Mississippi River and the French Quarter. The combination of the weight of a historic building with modern luxury is the hotel's biggest selling point.

Rooms, Dining and the Rooftop Pool
The hotel has 250 rooms, 40 of them suites. The facilities are quite complete:
- A main restaurant run by the team of New Orleans celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, a lobby lounge, and the rooftop bar on the 31st floor
- A rooftop pool terrace overlooking the city
- A spa of about 10,000 square feet (about 930 sq m)
- A modern fitness studio, plus more than 20,000 square feet of event space with several ballrooms and meeting rooms

Staying With Points
Fairmont belongs to Accor's ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty program, so you can stay with Accor points or cash.
Fairmont is also covered by HERA, Accor's program of perks for accredited travel advisors. Book an eligible room type through a HERA-accredited advisor and the room rate is exactly the same as booking direct on the hotel's website, but you can usually stack on daily breakfast for two, a free room upgrade subject to availability, a hotel credit worth about US$100, and late check-out and a welcome amenity.
For how these perks work, which brands and hotels take part, and how to find an accredited advisor to book, see this article on our site: The Complete Guide to the Accor HERA Advisor Program: Free Breakfast + Upgrade + Credit at Fairmont and Raffles.
If you like newly opened luxury hotels, add this one to your must-visit list for the second half of 2026.
Conclusion
A historic bank tower conversion, right next to the French Quarter, with a rooftop pool and a cloud-high bar, Fairmont New Orleans gives travelers who love exploring New Orleans one more luxury place to stay. It can already be booked, and if you are planning a trip it is worth watching the guest feedback after the opening.
