Guangzhou's luxury hotels almost all cluster in two districts, Zhujiang New Town and Tianhe: in Zhujiang New Town the Guangzhou International Finance Center (West Tower) and the Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre (East Tower) stand left and right, with Canton Tower just across the river; a little to the north is the Taikoo Hui district on Tianhe Road. The city's hotels have one thing in common – the standard of service and Cantonese restaurants is a benchmark for the whole country, nearly every hotel has a strong Cantonese dining room, and more than one has Michelin stars. The eight in this article were picked one by one from the Guangzhou hotels on sale under our perks program, at about US$180 to US$450 a night, quite a bit cheaper than comparable hotels in Shanghai or Hong Kong, so you can match one to your needs and budget.

In the Michelin Keys selection announced in September 2026, two of the eight hotels in this article made the list: Rosewood moved up from one Key to two, and Four Seasons has one Key.

A word on how we check prices first: all prices below are advisor-channel rates for a check-in of February 1, 2027, a 3-night stay, 2 adults, taxes included, shown as the average per night (the 3-night total divided by 3), in US dollars. This channel rate is the price we can get when booking for guests as an accredited travel advisor. It also comes with a range of perks you can't book through public channels, such as breakfast, hotel-specific perks and upgrades subject to availability. The specific perks are described under each hotel, and before booking we confirm them hotel by hotel before they go on the guest's confirmation.

The hotels are sorted by average nightly price from low to high, so you have a sense of the range as you read down.

Our full list of perks hotels (3,000+) is here: Global Luxury Hotel Perks List. It opens already filtered to Guangzhou hotels, and we can check prices for any of them the way this article does.

Here are the highlights up front, and if you're short on time these are enough:

  • Best value – Grand Hyatt: about US$186 a night, the lowest of the eight, the same as the hotel's public price
